Francis J. Martins graduated from the Dawson College Professional Theatre Program in 2004, where he played a wide range of roles; from an aging mafia chief in The Coronation Voyage, to Demetrius and Mr. Darcy in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Pride and Prejudice respectively. Upon graduation Francis immediately began his professional acting career, touring across Eastern Canada for eight months with Geordie Theatre Productions. With over 300 performances, it was both an amazing and exhilarating learning experience. Francis then returned to Montreal and began performing with local theatre companies: Persephone , Gleams, and Underdog Productions; as well as appearing in the independent film Josh and Elias. He then took to the road once more touring Ottawa with The Montreal Shakespeare Theatre Company. Upon his return, Francis made his Centaur Theatre debut, appearing in Romeo and Juliet.

In 2007 Francis co-founded Through Line Productions, a company dedicated to new and exciting theatre and film. Since its inception they produced the original comedy for the stage A Very Through Line Christmas written, directed and performed by its members; as well as the award winning play Dealer’s Choice by Patrick Marberwhere Francis played the role of Frankie. Francis has also produced, co-directed and wrote Environmentally Disturbed a comic short film which he also co-stars in.
