Iris Lapid - (actra a, uda s)

It was at Canterbury Arts High School in Ottawa that Iris first experienced the thrill of theatre. After discovering she wouldn't be satisfied doing anything else, she quickly enrolled in Concordia's Theatre Performance program. This gave her the opportunity to work with many inspiring actors and directors, including Harry Standjofski, with whom she worked on Metamorphoses and Urban Tales in 2010. Since graduating, she has been exploring the world of film, and has recently completed an independent short, which will be submitted to several film festivals.
Iris has always had a special interest in clown, mask, and physical theatre, having been lucky enough to work with Francine Coté, Denise Boulanger, Joe de Paul, and most recently, Philippe Gaulier. The beauty of this type of work is that it demands sensitivity and complicity between performers and audience, and it constantly reminds us that everything we do on stage must be grounded in honesty and joy.
