Iris Lapid - (actra a, uda s)

Iris Lapid is an actor living and working in Montréal. She made her first professional appearance in Urban Tales at the Centaur Theatre shortly after graduating with a BFA in Theatre Performance from Concordia University, and has since worked in a variety of film, commercial, and theatre productions. She approaches her work with energy and dedication, and above all, a curiosity that allows her to inhabit her roles with honesty.

As both performer and co-creator, Iris spent three years as part of The MAP Project, a Montréal-based theatre company established in 2008 by a group of interdisciplinary artists. In 2011, she performed in a season of eight original short plays produced by the company while in residence at the Mainline Theatre. In addition, she traveled with MAP to Germany, co-creating a show at Erlangen University, and in 2013 appeared at the New York Live Arts Centre in MAP's final show Oh Lord Won't You.

Iris enjoys working in clown, mask, and physical theatre, and has worked with such influential figures as Philippe Gaulier, Joe de Paul, and Francine Côté. Clown is a conversation between performer and audience, and she has found that the kind of listening and sensitivity it demands is transferrable to any stage, TV set, or film shoot.
